He had nine seasons in the big leagues but Chet Nichols, a lanky lefty from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, only pitched in 189 games in that span, waylaid for extended periods by military service and injuries. He had some success, witness his NL ERA crown as a rookie, but almost no luck. There's some areas of wear on the front of this 1952 semi-high Topps card, with upper left centering and some wear on the corners. He's added "Best Wishes" to a desirable signature in blue ballpoint, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC.
