Breaker of the American League color barrier in July of 1947, Larry Doby was also the second black manager in the major leagues with the 1978 White Sox, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1998. He played for the 1946 Negro National League champion Eagles and won a ring with Cleveland in 1948. There's corner rounding and some rough edges plus a crease in the upper left on this 1952 Topps card, with a wonderful image present. The reverse has some period writing in ink. PSA/DNA AUTHENTC for a large, lightly but evenly-faded signature in blue.
