Cookie Lavagetto was five years removed from breaking up Bill Beven's no hitter attempt in the ninth inning of game 4 of the 1947 World Series. He retired following the Bums' loss in the series and became a coach with the Dodgers in 1915, under Charlie Dressen. The 1952 Topps high number card has received a four-sided trim with a nice, blue signature, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC. Despite the heavy trim and wear, the card is quite desirable, as PSA/DNA has authenticated just four examples.
