<Insert joke here>

With an unfortunate last name for an athlete, Clyde Kluttz was probably destined to fail at baseball but it turns out that he didn't.  He earned a ring with the 1946 Cardinals and, while he certainly had his ups and downs, had a solid big league career, with 1952 being his final season.  He later became a scout and was the man who recommended Catfish Hunter to the Athletics. His 1952 Topps card is popular due to his unique name and this one looks quite nice.  There's some vintage gum stains at the lower left and a couple of small border notches on the right but the look is classic and the registration is superb.  The autograph, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC, is signed neatly in black, and is a beauty.  Kluttz died young, in 1979, and as such, just 11 signed examples of this card have been authenticated by PSA/DNA.
