A young Ty Cobb stands ready to strike in this 8" x 10" photograph, instantly recognizable as the source image for Cobb's 1909 E90-1 American Caramel card (card shown for illustration purposes only and is not included). Scattered wear, typically from handling, is present throughout the surface of this photo though it remains surprisingly clean with light chipping to the corners. Paper remnants remain affixed to verso with stamping of unknown origin present, providing a location for one to add their name, club, and date. Though it is a later generation photograph and likely produced from a duplicate negative created by taking a photograph of an existing photograph, this does remain a vintage example developed during the 1920's.
