Barney Pelty, "The Yiddish Curver" sits second from the left in this c.1907 cabinet photo. An unknown photographer has captured the players relaxing during what appears to be spring training. Most players in the image are clearly wearing the home uniform of the 1907 St. Louis Browns, though teams often wore the previous season's threads in spring training the very next year. Additional research would be necessary to nail down the remaining players but we can readily identify Joe Yeager to Pelty's right, and Tubby Spencer seated second from the left. Blank-backed mount boasts overall dimensions of approx. 10" x 12" and has admirably done it's job in protecting the 6.5" x 8.5" photo. One of several pieces in our 10th Anniversary Auction emanating directly from the estate of former Brown's pitcher, Barney Pelty where they have remained until the time of this sale.
