Taken by an uncredited staff photographer from the Associated Press, this unique grouping of five original photographs all measure approx. 3.75" x 4.75" and were developed from the original negatives. Each depicts a scene from Babe Ruth Day, hosted at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, April 27, 1947. Over 58,000 fans were in attendance to witness Babe Ruth's second-to-last Yankee Stadium appearance and The Babe addressed the crowd, stating “There’s been so many lovely things said about me, I’m glad I had the opportunity to thank everybody. Thank you.” All five photos in this wonderful group maintain crystal clarity and bright-white borders with minor wear to the corners. Verso of each photo is vivid white with no visible markings. All photos included are guaranteed Type 1.
