Attractive advertising fan promoting Falstaff Premium Quality Beer, featuring broadcaster and Hall of Fame pitcher Dizzy Dean.  The Falstaff brand was a national brand, by 1960 the third largest brewer in America, and since no team in particular is advertised on the fan, it seems reasonable to assume that the fan dates to the 1950s, when Dean was broadcasting nationally.  The fan lists the cities of St. Louis, Omaha, New Orleans and San Jose as bases of operations for Falstaff - the company acquired facilities in Fort Wayne in 1954, along with El Paso and Galveston in 1956, making out likely that the fan dates between 1952 (when the company established operations in San Jose) and 1954 (when they acquired the Fort Wayne facility).  During that time, Dean was broadcasting with Mutual in 1952, and ABC in 1953 and 1954.

The fan itself appears in VG-EX condition with some edge toning, most noteworthy on the lower edge of the reverse.  Some staining is also evident in areas of the front.  The wooden stick is clearly not original to the piece, a modern addition, stapled to the center of the fan.  Regardless, an attractive early 1950s advertising piece featuring one of the most popular pitchers and broadcasters of all time.
