Colorful complete set housed in the accompanying sticker album issued in 1972 featuring players from the Puerto Rican winter league. While widely known for the first cards of Hall of Famers Mike Schmidt and Rich Gossage the set is actually loaded with stars and Hall of Famers and stars of the era. This complete set includes both team photos and logos as well as a significant assortment of important major leaguers including Ed Figueroa Buck Martinez Bob Boone Schmidt (HOF) Willie Montanez Ivan DeJesus Sixto Lescano Grant Jackson Steve Rogers Mike Jorgensen Sandy Alomar Jose Cruz Tom Kelley Rich Gossage (HOF) Manny Sanguillen Jose Pagan Richie Zisk Frank Robinson (HOF) Juan Beniquez Ron Cey Don Baylor Tony Perez (HOF) and Orlando Cepeda (HOF). The album also includes a large-format "puzzle" image of Roberto Clemente as well as a host of "veteran" players who were major league heroes in their own right including Luis Olmo Willard Brown (HOF) Satchel Paige (HOF) Ray Brown (HOF) and more. The stamps in the album have largely retained their original vivid color and gloss mostly appearing in the middle to high grades (the Gossage stamp has a crease along the bottom). While it would be impossible to speculate on what would happen should a collector decide to attempt to remove the stickers from the album the eye appeal in their current state is very strong. The sticker album itself is in G-VG condition clearly loved and handled as one would expect a 1972 youngster who had patiently completed the set. The final page has had a photo cut out of the back and there are several areas of the album where handwritten notations have been made referring to card numbers. Moderate staining and toning is evident throughout. This is an outstanding piece of hobby history a stamp album diligently assembled by a 1972 collector.
