Difficult and highly desirable Cuban issue depicting Negro League pitcher and manager George Reuben "Rube" Curry, whose name was often misspelled "Currie" as is the case with this card. Curry played in each of the first four Negro World Series held between 1924 and 1927, and is pictured here in his Santa Clara Cuban League uniform, where he spent one season playing alongside the likes of Oscar Charleston, Alejandro Oms, and Jose Mendez. The card has been graded GOOD 2 by PSA due to overall wear consistent with the issue, the "MC" designation describing the severe L-R centering issue visible on both front and back. Image contrast is reasonably strong for the issue.
