Infielder Frank Warfield had a lengthy career in the Negro Leagues, finishing his 11 seasons with a .277 lifetime batting average.  An excellent fielder, he played on the Hilldale teams that won the Eastern Colored League pennants from 1923 to 1925, and was manager for two of them.  In addition to being a player, he was an excellent manager, leading the 1929 Baltimore Black Sox to the Negro American League championship.  Another card from the difficult Cuban issue, this 1923-24 Billiken is, as is the case with most Caribbean cards, in POOR condition, with several ubiquitous insect holes, some heavy creasing and staining, along with heavy wear and tear at the edges.  Still, the image contrast is strong, a clean and attractive photo of an excellent player.  One of just two examples of this card to have been assessed by PSA.
