Extremely difficult uncatalogued Ty Cobb.  Unusual and very scarce "card" of Ty Cobb, originating from a children's notebook cover and part of a 26-subject "set."  The cards were trimmed from the cover, and it was only through a recent discovery of an intact notebook cover that the hobby learned the source of the cards.  Demand did not diminish after the discovery, as the cards remain difficult and desirable in any grade, often graded "AUTHENTIC" because of the irregular cuts around the unnatural borders of the card.  Presented here is a card of Ty Cobb, the key to the issue, graded AUTHENTIC due to that erratic trim.  Some surface wear is also evident, though this is one of the more attractive examples of this card that we have encountered.
