Attractive portrait card of Joe DiMaggio, issued by "Homogenized" Bond Bread in 1947, part of a 48-card set that included 44 baseball players and four boxers.  The borderless photos include a facsimile autograph, and were typically found with rounded corners, though the Standard Catalog makes reference to square-cornered cards as well.  A large find of square-cornered cards were discovered in a 1980s warehouse find, the cards were subsequently illegally reprinted, making square-cornered cards suspect and also calling into question the rounded-cornered cards in some cases as well.  The 1980s find, however, only included examples of about half the cards in the set, however, and Joe DiMaggio was not one of them.  As such, the demand for this card is quite strong, along with Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese, the two key cards in the set.  Graded FR 1.5 by SGC, the card does exhibit considerable wear and creasing, however, the image is bold and impactful, an attractive portrait of the Yankee Clipper.
