Outstanding early scorecard dated to a May 18, 1887 game between the Boston Beaneaters and Pittsburgh Alleghenys. A 9-2 Boston win, the Boston lineup was stacked with well-recognized names from the era, including Hall of Famer King Kelly, Billy Nash, John Morrill, and Dick Johnston. The Pittsburgh lineup featured Sam Barkley, John Coleman, Art Whitney, and Jim McCormick. The game was carefully scored in pencil. The cover is designed to closely resemble what we know as the H804-11 Circled Position trade cards, with a colorful front cover. The reverse contains five advertisements, including one from sporting goods manufacturer Wright & Ditson. An attractive piece, some lightly irregular creasing at the fold, roughly VG/EX condition.
