Rare Northwestern League foldover scorecard from a July 2, 1887 game between the Des Moines Hawkeyes and Oshkosh club. Though the game itself is unsecured, the Oshkosh lineup includes Pat O'Connell, Jim Burns, Taylor Shafer, John Doran, Dummy Hoy, Tommy McCarthy (HOF), Jimmy Cooney, Ed Gastfield, Bill Burdick and Gus Krock, each listed on the lineup card. For Des Moines, the lineup card includes Elmer Sutcliffe, Sam LaRocque, Bily Alford, Guerdon Whitely, Timothy Brosnan, Bill Van Dyke, Charles Faatz, Bill Hutchinson, and Frank Wells are on the lineup card. The card displays well, the Oshkosh side clean with some very light staining, the marks at the right and bottom edge where clear tape was once affixed. The Des Moines side suffers from some heavy toning and what appears to be moisture staining, as well as some paper loss at the right corners, legible but more difficult to see. An extremely rare early scorecard, featuring a Hall of Fame player in Tommy McCarthy and a very popular player from his era in Dummy Hoy.
