Original 5" x 7" Goodwin & Co. glass plate negative emanating from the "Vermont Find." Catcher Jack O'Brien is depicted in a batting pose with the 1888 Baltimore Orioles of the American Association. Though this image has not been discovered on a card issued by Goodwin & Co., Obrien's uniform and the background of this image are consistent with his known N172 Old Judge cards. At 5" x 8" this negative is oversized compared to all other 19th century negatives in this sale, which measure 5" x 7". A period paper label with handwritten notations is affixed at right of glass-side.
