Jesse Burkett and fellow Hall of Famer Hughie Jennings joined John McGraw's New York Giants coaching staff prior to the 1921 season. Both men were onboard for the Giants World Series championships of 1921 and 1922 (the Giants won four consecutive pennants 1921-24), with Burkett departing in 1923 and Jennings remaining until his health declined badly in 1926.
