Wonderful 1920 Type 1 photo picturing one of manager John McGraw's favorite players - Hall of Fame outfielder Ross Youngs of the New York Giants. This shot served as the source image for his E120 American Caramel card (card shown for illustration only and is not included) and depicts Youngs leaping in a classic pose often used by International and other news photo services of the day. Despite helping his Giants teams capture four-straight pennants, including two World Series championships (1921-22), while batting .322 lifetime, Youngs remains a controversial Hall of Famer. Sadly, his life and career were cut short when he was diagnosed with Bright's disease in 1926, passing away one year later at the age of 30.

Photo has a small stain above Youngs' right hand and an aprox. 1/2" tear appears by the top left corner. Verso is clean and includes full paper tag with caption plus stamping from International, identifying them as the issuer. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
