Perhaps the quintessential Charles Conlon portrait of long-time Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Fame manager Cornleius McGillicuddy - Connie Mack. Mack famously owned and managed his Athletics for 50 seasons from 1901-50, retiring at the age of 87. During his tenure with the club Mack was responsible for nine American League pennants and five World Series titles (1910, 1911, 1913, 1929, 1930), while accumulating the most wins, losses and games managed in the history of the game. Photo surface remains in exemplary condition with only a small crease in the lower left corner and a folded over white sticker appearing within the bottom border. Verso has been almost completely covered over with brown tape which has helped stiffen and reinforce the overall example considerably. Charles Conlon's personal stamping can be seen underneath the brown tape if held to a light source. Photo measures 6.5" x 8.5" and is fresh to the hobby, originating from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
