The 1944 World Series was just the third time that a World Series had all its games played in a single ballpark, as the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns both called Sportsman's Park home. It would be 76 years before another World Series was played entirely in one ballpark: the 2020 Series was played entirely in Arlington, Texas due to precautions regarding the pandemic.
The 1944 season wasn't without its own drama, as a pennant race left some uncertainty over whether the Browns, Tigers, or Yankees would be representing the American League. The result is this phantom World Series ticket, produced for a Yankees' World Series that never occurred. The ticket is in VG condition, but with two cancellation hole punches at each end.
