“He was the only man who knew how to keep me in line," said The Babe of his first manager with the Yankees in 1920, Miller Huggins. Though the Hall of Fame duo were regularly at odds, their working relationship on the field was instrumental in producing the first Yankees dynasty, leading the New York Yankees to three consecutive pennants (1921-1923), six World Series appearances in the decade (1921-1923 and 1926-1928), and three World Series titles to show for their efforts (1923, 1927, 1928).
