This official NFL program originates from Cubs Park (renamed Wrigley Field in 1926) where the Bears defeated the Buffalo All-Americans 18-3 on October 28, 1923. It was the Chicago Bears fourth season in the NFL and second as the Chicago Bears — from 1920-21 the Bears were known as the Staleys due to the fact that the team was established by the A. E. Staley food starch company in Decatur, IL. While the Bears still exist to this day the Buffalo franchise (later renamed the Buffalo Bisons) folded in 1929.
Program exhibits vertical creases throughout with handwritten numbers in pencil at the bottom of each page. Cover is lightly toned with wear at the edges and four small areas of tape residue along spine. Center page with rosters is intact but has some staining and is separated from rest of program. Interior includes many fantastic full-body images of the Chicago Bears, including George Halas.
