Measuring approximately 7 1/2" tall and manufactured by the Stanford Pottery company of Sebring, Ohio, beautiful ceramic bank featuring the likeness of a pirate, wearing a Pirates baseball uniform with a baseball glove on his left hand. He stands on a metal "base," with gold tooth and eye patch. In stunning condition, these banks were difficult to find, mostly because there is no stopper for opening the bank. In order to retrieve their hard-saved coins, youngsters were required to smash the bank to bits - a good explanation for why these are so difficult to find.
