Extraordinarily rare 1950s glove, one of just three US-manufactured Jackie Robinson gloves ever found, possibly manufactured as a prototype. It combines the popular JC Higgins brand with pro-stock Wilson features, including top-grade tanned steer hid leather with "Streamline Kure-Form Fingers" patent stamping on the outer finger. This is the identical design as the professional game-used Robinson model that recently sold for six figures. The condition of this glove is outstanding. This is the second example of this glove that we have handled, this one even finer than the first, with beautiful, supple leather, outstanding lining, and easily legible stampings on the heel, pinky and palm. Robinson's signature endorsement appears int eh palm, very sharp and easily read. The original piping is intact around the wrist strap, though it has cracked with age in many places. The lacing appears original. A spectacular example of this ultra-rare Jackie Robinson glove.
