Beautiful 4" x 5 1/2" card issued in 1886 by the Lorillard Tobacco Co., these cards are particularly rare and desirable.  Four different team cards are known - Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Philadelphia, with each card depicting eleven players plus a ballfield diagram on the colorful front, and the team's schedule on the reverse.  Today, these are highly desirable and quite valuable.  This particular example features the Detroit Wolverines, one of the most desirable teams of the era.  Depicted on the card include Lady Baldwin, Ned Hanlon (HOF), Jack Rowe, Charlie Bennett, Larry Twitchell, Dan Brouthers (HOF), Deacon White (HOF), Hardy Richardson, Jim Manning, Sam Thompson (HOF) and Charlie Hall.  Graded PR 1 by SGC, this card presents quite well, a recent discovery that is fresh to the hobby.  The most notable condition flaw is a small paper chip out of the bottom-right corner, along with some age-related toning and discoloration.  The reverse exhibits a few stray areas of light pencil writing, some tiny spots of paper loss from likely scrapbook removal, and a few stray stains, none of which are disruptive to the aesthetic appeal of the piece.
