Dating to 1952 cardboard advertising display references Hall of Famer Roy Campanella's 1951 MVP award in the body copy. Attractive and colorful sign features the Brooklyn hero in his uniform smiling and holding a bottle of that refreshing soft drink. Matted and framed to a finished size of approximately 17" x 21" we will assume from the way the matte tightly hugs the edges of the piece that edge and corner wear can be expected. Visible surface wear is evident most notably a small hole along the right edge near Campanella's ear but also in the form of some stray creases and surface abrasions that have resulted in some very mild paper loss here and there. Though we are unable to view the edges or reverse due to the frame we can detect no signs of restoration on this piece. An exceptionally strong colorful example of this important mid-century advertising piece.
