Outstanding grouping of five panoramic photos of college baseball teams from the pages of Burr-McIntosh Monthly. These highly collectible photos were taken from the publication which produced a host of art photos suitable for frame or display. During the publication's two-year run they produced a number of baseball images including major league teams one individual player and college teams. Presented here are five of the college photos (a sixth of West Point appears on the reverse of the Boston team photo featured elsewhere in the auction). Included here are the following: 1) Cornell Varsity Baseball Club: Featuring Hall of Fame manager Hugh Jennings at the far right attractive photo with light wear two pinholes at the bottom and some wear and light paper loss at the serrated edge. 2) The Harvard Baseball Club: Attractive panoramic image picturing the players lined up in front of an academic building many squinting in the sunlight. EX appearance save for two pinholes near the binding holes and some wear and light paper loss at the serrated edge.3) Princeton Varsity Baseball Club: Ostensibly the starting nine of the University team posed along what appears to be the first base line grandstand in the background. Strong appearance an upper-left corner clip some small pinholes and wear along the serrated edge. 4) University of Pennsylvania Baseball Club: Attractive photo of the team inside the stadium. VG/EX appearance with some tears at the binding holes and some paper loss and creasing along the serrated edge. 5) Yale Varsity Baseball Club: Strong image of 14 teammates posed in front of what appears to be an outfield fence. Some wear is evident along the serrated edge along with some tiny tears and two pinholes that are consistent with the other pieces. Five exceptional pieces published by Burr-McIntosh during their two-year run. NOTE: A knowledgeable collector reached out to us on the auction's opening night to correct our assertion that Burr-McIntosh Monthly produced just ten baseball photos. He was kind enough to list 14 and posit that there may have been more. As such we have corrected our description.
