Attractive photo from the pages of Burr-McIntosh Monthly picturing the World Champion Red Sox. The piece measures smaller than the standard pages from the magazine at 10 1/2" x 5" (from 12" x 6"). While we believe this piece to be slightly trimmed we cannot unequivocally determine this because there is a school of thought that the publication also made the photos available by mailorder (without the binding holes). We do believe this to be a page from the publication carefully trimmed due to the presence of the West Point Baseball team photo on the reverse some of the photo credit having been trimmed away. That question aside the presentation appears EX/MT save for the publication date (6-04) written in pencil at the bottom-right corner. Jimmy Collins is pictured third from right. The photo is the only one of the Burr-McIntosh pages that has baseball photos on both sides; the West Point baseball team photo the sixth photo of a college baseball team (the other five appear elsewhere in this auction) and is particularly notable because it is theorized that the player posed fourth from right leaning on a bat is a young future General Douglas MacArthur.
