Exceptional 1927 Forbes Field ticket stub for the opening game of the 1927 World Series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Yankees. A close game the Yankees won 5-4 on the strength of a three-run third inning with the Bronx Bombers playing small ball. Hall of Famer Waite Hoyt got the win with Wilcy Moore finishing the eighth and pitching the ninth to close it out. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA the stub appears strong with some slight discoloration across the center diagonally from bottom left to top right. A small piece of paper loss is notable at the top right edge the result of an irregular tear at the perforation. That paper loss is far more pronounced on the reverse which also appears to have a small bit of stray pencil writing. Still an outstanding document of the first game of the 1927 World Series ultimately a four-game sweep by one of the most dominant teams of all-time.
