Stunning 1949 baseball schedule advertising Old German beer. Measuring approximately 15" x 33". this large paper display is supported at the top and bottom by light metal reinforcements designed to aid in hanging the fragile piece. The starting nine from the American and National League All-Star teams are pictured as are the league presidents and commissioners - among those pictured include Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio Ted Williams Hal Newhouser Lou Boudreau Jackie Robinson Pee Wee Reese Stan Musial Enos Slaughter Johnny Mize Ralph Kiner and Joe Gordon. The fascinating piece also lists the final 1948 standings minor league champions and all-time single-season record holders as well as the official American League and National League schedules for the 1949 season. A large photo of Fenway Park adorns the top third of the poster. The piece presents in EX condition with some minor creases in various places along with three large tack holes at the top center of the piece. The upper-left corner exhibits a visible water stain. Upon close examination the paper exhibits light wrinkling from once being rolled up and possibly stored in a tube but these wrinkles are of little consequence with respect to the overall appearance. The reverse is clean. This is an outstanding piece containing a wealth of data and images related to baseball history up through 1948 in an extremely appealing display.
