Exceptional game board and contents from the 1936 S&S Games "National Game." A baseball-themed game that involved simulated game play involving playing cards the game came with 52 playing cards most of which included a photo of an actual major league player. Today the set of cards is loaded with Hall of Famers and is a highly underrated baseball card issue from the 1930s. Presented here is the box playing surface and several game pieces (some of which are home-made replacements for the originals carefully constructed out of what appears to be matchsticks). The box itself is in VG condition sturdy and colorful but exhibiting wear at the edges and flaps. The playing surface has fared better perhaps EX condition with some minor chipping. Also included are two cards from the set: Stanley Hack graded NM+ 7.5 by SGC and the game directions card graded EX/NM 6. An interesting companion piece to a full S&S Game set.
