Exceptional colorful framed advertising display from the collection of Ted Patterson. Initially part of a multi-panel piece the display pictures a baseball scene with a Winchester logo at the top and the phrase "Good athletic equipment will improve your play" superimposed over the scene at the bottom. Despite the fact that these pieces were muti-part framed items each of the Winchester panels boast strong display value on their own. The large-format piece measures 18" x 38" in its wiiden frame the cardboard sign exhibiting some wear throughout with a few small areas of inpainting notably at the bottom-left corner. A large crease traverses left to right across the top third of the sign; it is likely that the crease is actually a tear that has been professionally repaired and reinforced on the reverse (which is hidden behind the cardboard backing of the wooden frame). Several other light creases and blemishes are evident as are a few spots of a foreign substance is stuck to the sign (at the top left and right). A tear appears to have been repaired in the infield dirt along the bottom-left edge of the piece as well and a large visible chip in the upper-right corner of the frame can also be observed. Despite the condition flaws and small areas of restoration the quality of the piece is tremendous an outstanding valuable display that is in high demand in the hobby.
