The 1979 Baltimore Orioles ran away with the American League East division finishing eight games ahead of the second-place Brewers and defeating the California Angels in the LCS 3-1. Led by right fielder Ken Singleton's career-high 35 home runs and 111 RBI along with Eddie Murray's .295/25/99 season the club also saw a Cy Young performance by Mike Flanagan who finished 23-9 with a 3.08 ERA. The team unfortunately ran into a juggernaut in the "We Are Family" Pittsburgh Pirates who won the World Series in 7 games. Presented here is a group of press passes used by then-Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson. The collection includes three button-tag press passes for Memorial Stadium (one game pass another clubhouse/field/interview room pass and a third postgame interview room pass) along with three official hospitality passes one for the ALCS one for World Series games 1 and 2 and a third for World Series games 6 and 7. All present well the button tag passes each including their original strings. The field interview passes have had the botton two stubs removed. That same pass has Patterson's credentials written in place of an AP reporter whose name was crossed off the pass. All the others are blank. From the collection of Ted Patterson six pieces total.
