Stunning higher-grade example from this the second of three issues distributed during the Puerto Rican Winter League seasons. The first card of Hall of Famer Leon Day who played every position but catcher and often started on the field on days he did not pitch. In the Negro Leagues Day played for the Baltimore Black Sox in 1934 the Newark Eagles between 1935 and 1946 and the Baltimore Elite Giants during 1949 and 1950. In addition to playing in the United States Day played six seasons in Puerto Rico and also played in the Mexican and Venezuelan Leagues. He played several seasons of minor league baseball toward the end of his career but sadly never made it to the majors. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame just six days before dying in 1995. The card is a gorgeous specimen well-centered with a clean sharp image along with some minor wear to the corners and edges responsible for the grade. A tremendous example a key card of an important Hall of Famer.
