Attractive presentable lower-grade lot of five cards representing the 1910 Series of 175 Subjects and 1911 varieties of the T212 Obak Cigarettes sets. The lot includes two examples of 1910 Obaks: outfielder Emil Frisk of the Seattle Giants and a player named Starkell of the Tacoma Tigers of the Northwest League. Both cards grade FAIR/POOR with creasing and general wear. The Frisk card has an ink stamp on the reverse from Russell W Sewall a collector whose name pops up frequently on the backs of Obaks and T206s. The Starkell has a variety of writing on the reverse as well. The lot also contains three examples of 1911 Obaks: Angels pitcher George Wheeler Seals player Zamlock and Victoria Bees outfielder Ed Householder. The Wheeler and Householder cards both ungraded would grade POOR due to creasing. The Zamlock has been graded GOOD 30 by SGC due largely to a large horizontal crease across the bottom.Obaks are among the most fascinating and beautiful prewar cards ever manufactured. This is an excellent grouping of very presentable lower-grade Obaks from two different years representing a number of popular PCL and NWL teams.
