Outstanding complete 1971 Baltimore Orioles full uniform as worn by longtime outfielder/pitcher (that's right) Dick Hall in his very last major league season. Hall signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a position player despite having pitched in college and in semipro baseball. He played multiple positions with Pittsburgh playing 145 games at various positions between 1952 and 1955 with little success before becoming a pitcher almost exclusively beginning in 1955. That would be the beginning of a 16-year pitching career which landed him in Baltimore in 1961 where he would play all but two of his remaining seasons pitching primarily in relief. Hall's final season of 1971 saw him the oldest player in the American League at 41 his final major league appearance saving Game 2 of the World Series for Jim Palmer against the team that signed him - the Pittsburgh Pirates. He finished his career with a lifetime ERA of 3.32 in 16 years a pretty exceptional run. His 1971 uniform as presented here is simply tremendous aSpalding size 44 jersey and size 36 pants. Signs of use are evident including dirt staining on the pants. Hall has signed the jersey on the tail the numbers and name clearly visible against the blue flannel. MEARS has assigned the entire ensemble a perfect grade of A10. A tremendous uniform from an American League champion which made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series. Full LOA from MEARS.
