Exceptional Wilson size 40 1980 Baltimore Orioles home jersey worn by Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver and consigned from the extensive collection of former Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson. Coming off the 1979 World Series loss to Pittsburgh the Orioles of 1980 were also a powerhouse winning 100 games but finishing three behind the New York Yankees. The season was one of five 100-win seasons in Weaver's managerial career which spanned 1968 through 1982 followed by a three-year break and then two final seasons in 1985 and 1986. Weaver's jersey has been assessed by MEARS with a perfect grade of A10 with light signs of use. Most notable is that to support his heavy smoking habit Weaver had a custom pocket sewn into the inside of the left breast of the shirt a place where he could store his cigarettes during games. A truly unique jersey belonging to a truly unique manager - one of the best in history. Full LOA from MEARS.
