I have one to sell!
It was just last year that a small group of collectors including me sat in the hotel bar at the National Sports Collectors Convention listening to Luis Tiant tell baseball stories. He is a fascinating man. He was an outstanding pitcher as well. His 19-year career produced four 20-win seasons a lifetime ERA of 3.30 (much of the time spent pitching in Fenway Park) and three top-ten finishes in the Cy Young ballots. In five postseason appearances El Tiante posted a 3-0 record with a 2.86 ERA including two wins in the legendary 1975 Series against Cincinnati. Presented here is a 1976 Boston Red Sox jersey worn by Tiant during one of his finest seasons: 1976 which he won 21 games and lost 12 posting an ERA of 3.06. The McAuliffe pullover-style size 42 jersey features Tiant's number 23 on the reverse an autograph along the right shoulder and strong signs of use throughout. MEARS has assessed the jersey with a grade of A8.5 deducting 1.5 points due to staining on the front and back of the jersey. Regardless an important Red Sox home jersey as worn by one of the most popular players in team history one of the finest pitchers of his era and a possible future Hall of Famer.
