Perhaps the single greatest feat in All-Star game history - or at least the most memorable - was Carl Hubbell's amazing record of five consecutive strikeouts of some of the greatest hitters in the history of the game. In succession Hubbell struck out Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Jimmie Foxx Al Simmons and Joe Cronin. His record has never been broken in All-Star play - and if you factor in the quality of the players it probably never will be. Lost in the legend of that story is the explosive American League offense which opened up against Van Mungo in the 5th winning the game by a 9-7 margin. All these years later it's Hubbell's performance that remains memorable. Presented here is a collector-grade stub from the game graded PR 1 by PSA. The grade is due to overall wear an upper-left corner clip an uneven cut at the perf along with general surface wear and creasing. Still a relatively scarce stub from one of the most important All-Star games in history.
