Attractive vintage stub for Game 3 of the 1917 World Series labeled on the ticket as Game 1 because it was the first game at the Polo Grounds. Rube Benton would outduel Eddie Cicotte in the game the Giants winning by a 2-0 margin over the White Sox. Ultimately the White Sox would gake the Series in six games but on this night the Giants were the winners. Stub has strong visual appeal but would technically grade POOR due to a heavy crease from top to bottom that develops into a tear at the top edge. Some modest paper loss and writing also appears on the back. Despite these flaws a very scarce and important ticket.
