Game program for the 1950 Enid Giants for a game against the Joplin Miners. The Miners of course were the Western Association affiliate of the New York Yankees and in 1950 had a young switch-hitting shortstop named Mickey Mantle on the team. Mantle is listed in the scorecard (which is unscored) as "Matle" but the rest of the Joplin lineup is spelled correctly despite the fact that none would have the kind of impact on the game as Mantle did. The scorecard is in poor condition despite the appearance of not being used. The pages have come apart and have been reattached at some point with staples. An advertisement has been removed from the interior pages cut out at some point in time. Still an early example of a minor league scorecard including Mickey Mantle is a scarce and desirable collectible and we are thrilled to offer this in our auction.
