Colorful collection of Chesterfield cardboard advertising displays. Intended to be displayed at retailers offering Chesterfield cigarettes the cardboard displays often featured professional athletes as endorsers and are quite collectible today. This grouping of three includes the following: 1) Casey Stengel/Leo Durocher: early 1950s piece depicting "Chesterfield Smokers" and New York Hall of Fame managers Stengel and Durocher both in street clothes. Measuring 21" x 22" this pieceis in poor condition with significant creasing at the top-right along with some water staining at the bottom edge. A large piece has been gouged out near the letter "I" in "Chesterfield " and the bottom-right corner has been torn away. The corner is included with the lot and could be professionally reattached. 2) William Bendix as Babe Ruth: Matted to 28 1/2" x 31 1/2" attractive 1948 piece featuring the aforementioned actor in Yankee pinstripes Louisville Slugger bat over his shoulder. F condition with some creasing and wrinkling the matte prevents us from examining the edges and reverse. 3) Bucky Harris: Large-format 1950s piece matted to approximately 25" x 49". Colorful and clean but technically in F-P condition due to a large tear across the bottom-right corner and a n approximately 2 1/2" piece of cardboard torn off the top left edge. Other heavy creases are evident along with some additional staining. The entire piece has been glued to a piece of heavy black board. Three pieces total each presenting well but with condition flaws to each.
