Extraordinary full-feature matchbook featuring then-retired major leaguers Bubbles Hargrave and Marty Berghammer each former members of the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. The inside of the matchbook contains the 1937 schedule for the Saints along with baseball bat-shaped matches each bearing one of the two players' names. Neither Hargrave nor Berghammer were associated with the club in 1937 leading us to believe that the matchbook was potentially part of a set that included other former members of the team. The matchbook is in VG condition with some edge chipping and wear at the folds. The matches are all intact and although the striker does exhibit some very mild wear it is unused. An interesting and tough-to-find piece of American Association-related memorabilia.
