Measuring 6" x 4 1/4" sepia-toned photo depicting future Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan with the Toledo Iron Men formerly the Toledo Mud Hens the American Association team the thrifty catcher purchased with his savings in 1916. Serving as owner manager and catcher he lasted three years in that capacity finally turning in the Tools of Ignorance at the end of the 1918 season. Ultimately he sold the team in 1924 and returned to the Giants in a coaching capacity. The photo is in outstanding condition picturing the Hall of Famer in his Iron Men uniform amidst a group of dignitaries of some kind the packed grandstand in the background. Some scrapbook remnants are visible on the reverse along with light pencil markings. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
