Tremendous 10" x 8" team photo picturing the Boston "Miracle Braves" of 1914. The Braves' team was in last place on the fourth of July and rallied to win 94 games taking over first place on September 8 posting an astonishing .782 winning percentage over the season's second half and sweeping the heavily-favored Philadelphia Athletics in the World Series. This is a well-known photo of the team featuring 26 members of the team (plus the mascot) including Hall of Famers Johnny Evers and Rabbit Maranville plus stars Hank Gowdy Dick Rudolph Bill James Butch Schmidt and Joe Connelly. The photo clarity is tremendous in outstanding condition save for a pronounced top-to-bottom crease along the right side of the photo that breaks through the surface of the photo. The reverse includes handwritten notes including photo credit for Underwood & Underwood. A fantastic photo of one of the game's most storied teams. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
