Spectacular T206 Cobb "Bat Off Shoulder " part of a large discovery of high-grade fresh-to-the-hobby tobacco cards that were brought to auction in 2015. Sharp and colorful the card is graded NM 84 by SGC due to very slight corner touches and a minor top-to-bottom centering issue that does not distract from the card's beauty by any means. Clean and bright as with other cards from this find the example seems almost new as if it was pulled from its pack yesterday. Despite the plentiful nature of T206 cards high-grade examples remain elusive particularly of Hall of Famers. Our research has uncovered just two "Bat Off" Cobbs to have been graded NM 84 by SGC and though PSA has assessed considerably more (38 in total) just 19 individual examples have been graded higher by that company. As Cobb's cards continue to reach new heights with each sale this is as fine an example as you are likely to see recently graded from a fresh-to-the-hobby find.
