Spectacular yellow/brown printers scrap of Addie Joss' "pitching" pose. Yellow/brown scraps typically hand cut are popular among T206 collectors as the unfinished cards provide a window into the print process and typically command a significant premium. The cards are nearly always found in poor condition poorly cut with significant wear. This is one of the finest we have encountered and is easily the finest example of a Hall of Famer. Corners have been cut to near razor sharpness with excellent centering the Sweet Caporal reverse nearly perfect with some very minor soiling. The front does exhibit what we thought was very slight soiling near Joss' glove but an astute bidder pointed out that the mark is merely the outline of a building that appears in the background of the card when all the colors are present! Yellow/brown scraps are rare to begin with; the Hall of Fame caliber of the subject adds a second level of rarity. Add in the wonderful condition and this is an outstanding example of a Holy Grail of printer scraps.
