Beautiful 6" x 8" news service photo picturing Yankees second baseman Tony Lazzeri in his rookie season in the Major Leagues. By 1926 the 22-year-old infielder was an established prospect having hit 16 home runs in just 293 at bats with the Salt Lake City Bees of the PCL in 1924 and 14 more with the team in 1925. Lazzeri would become a part of the famed Murderer's Row Yankee teams hitting 178 home runs in a 14-year Major League career (all but two with the Yankees) with a lifetime batting average of .292. The photo is strong some crop marks appearing at the top border and some minor edge wear and tears visible as well. The slug is not attached but is still present having been repaired several times with clear tape. An outstanding photo of one of the great Yankee infielders.
