I have one to sell!
Attractive pair of Harper's Weekly woodcuts featuring four of the most important players of the era. The first piece appeared in the October 20 1888 issue and features future Hall of Famers Tim Keefe and Buck Ewing. The entire page is present folded in half for dozens of years and thus the fold is extremely tight to the point where tears are beginning to develop at the edges. Wear is evident at the corners and edges including some minor tears but the image appears in EX-MT condition. The second dated the following week features Charles Comiskey and Arlie Latham of the Browns. The images appear outstanding but wear at the fold has torn the page in two. This tear does not impact the image of the woodcut in any way. The left edge of the image exhibits a slight tear midway down the image that impinges upon the image of Comiskey but lies flat on the page and does not obstruct the image. The reverse has some very light pencil writing in the upper-right corner. In both cases the pages appear to have been lightly trimmed at the edges again not impacting the images. Two outstanding woodcuts featuring important 19th Century players.
