I have one to sell!
Gorgeous postcard of Olympian Jim Thorpe one of the greatest of all American athletes in his track and field uniform for the 1912 Olympics. In 1912 Thorpe competed in two Olympic events the Pentathlon and the Decathlon. He won Gold Medals for both and in addition to receiving the medals won two prizes which were donated by King Gustav of Sweden and Czar Nicholas II of Russia. When Thorpe was presented with his prize by King Gustav Gustav told Thorpe "You sir are the greatest athlete in the world." Thorpe famously responded "Thanks King." The unused postcard is in outstanding condition with wonderful eye appeal a technical grade of VG-EX 4 by PSA related to discoloration on the reverse likely from scrapbook mounting. Corners and edges are sharp with very little wear and the image quality is outstanding.
